Major changes in the legal sector due to COVID-19

Following the drastic changes resulting from the declaration of a global pandemic due to COVID-19, all sectors of society were forced to reinvent themselves in order to be able to move forward despite the adversities.

The legal sector is no exception to this situation. A system where routine visits to the courts of the Republic, as well as to the different government institutions, reigned, we found ourselves in need of finding alternative methods in order to continue providing our services effectively.

In an effort to adapt to current times, the most radical and innovative change that the legal sector in the Dominican Republic has seen is virtuality. Faced with services that used to be carried out only by going to the relevant institutions, we find ourselves with the novelty that we are just a “click” away from carrying out our daily activities. This change will be the one that will drive the much-needed modernization of the country’s public services. With a view to offering more agile and economical services for users nationwide.
